Lung disease is the number three killer in America, responsible for one in seven deaths. Lung disease and other breathing problems are the number one killer of babies younger than one year old. Today, more than 35 million Americans are living with chronic lung disease such as asthma, emphysema and chronic bronchitis. This section includes information on lung cancer, tuberculosis, emphysema and A1AD related emphysema, pneumonia, sarcoidosis, HIV/AIDS and lung disease, and influenza.

More detailed information on the most common lung diseases and risk factors are located in the Research and Scientific Affairs/Statistics section under trend reports and lung disease publications.
